In this position... 

Ford Pro is a new global business within Ford committed to commercial customer productivity. The CRM DevSecOPs Product Manager will work with individual product team managers to iteratively deliver functionality that optimizes for assigned product line. This Product Manager role will specifically focus on the platform, tools, and processes that enable our Salesforce development teams to deliver features efficiently, securely, and reliably for Ford Pro. This position requires deep knowledge of the Salesforce platform, its development lifecycle, and an ability to make holistic decisions regarding the tools and processes supporting our development teams. This is a hands-on role, working directly with CRM product line leads, development teams, security, and operations personnel to deliver best-in-class platform solutions leveraging Salesforce and associated DevSecOps capabilities.

**Although this is a fully remote position, we prefer candidates who are able to work or relocate to the Dearborn, MI area in a hybrid work schedule. The Product Manager will work EST hours with expected travel to the Dearborn area approximately 4-6X/ year.

 

**SOUTHEAST MI RESIDENTS: Please note, this job is posted as remote unless the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of Dearborn, MI, then if may require hybrid onsite schedule, up to 60% of the time.

 

What you'll do...

  • Develop and manage the product strategy, roadmap, and feature backlog for the Salesforce development platform and DevSecOps toolchain, ensuring alignment with Ford Pro's business objectives and IT standards.
  • Maintain a balance between internal developer/operations desirability, business viability, and technical feasibility while delivering platform enhancements with a team.
  • Engage continuously and work closely with Salesforce development teams, security engineers, operations personnel, Product Line/Product Managers, Anchors, and Business Partners to understand challenges, define new feature requests, and break them down into an actionable backlog of user stories.
  • Work hands-on with the platform engineering team and stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and deliver software and process improvements that create excellent developer and operational experiences.
  • Collaborate with CRM product teams and interfacing IT teams (security, infrastructure, etc.) to define specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform deliverables and integrations.
  • Ensure cohesive platform design and adherence to internal standards, promoting best practices across development teams.
  • Help stakeholders understand our iterative development approach and focus on delivering value through careful and deliberate prioritization of platform features.
  • Champion DevSecOps best practices and drive adoption of platform tools and processes across development teams.
  • Create assets to guide platform development work (Discovery, Capability Models, Framing and Scoping documents, user stories, technical specifications). Write and manage EPICs and User Stories in Jira.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to development velocity, deployment frequency, security posture, platform reliability, and user satisfaction. Provide regular updates.
  • Mentor and train other PMs or team members on platform capabilities and DevSecOps practices as needed.
  • Help innovate and iterate on agile PM processes applied to platform development.
  • Adherence to agile best practices including use of Scaled Agile Framework and Kanban methodologies.

 

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering field, Business or related field.
  • 4+ years with progressive responsibilities in software development, IT operations, or platform management.
  • Experience with delivery/development and deep understanding of the development lifecycle, with a preference for experience in Salesforce “Core” – Sales and/or Service Cloud.
  • 3+ years of experience defining product vision, strategy, product roadmaps and building and managing backlogs, preferably for internal platforms or technical products.
  • 3+ years of writing sub-epics, features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles, methodologies, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • 1+ years working with Agile software methodologies (Scrum, eXtreme Programming, Kanban).
  • 3 years experience working with Agile Product Management Software (Jira)
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with specific Salesforce development and DevSecOps tools (e.g., Copado, CodeScan, SFDX, source control systems like Github).
  • Experience managing internal platforms or tools used by technical teams.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce security best practices and tooling.
  • Previous success delivering platform enhancements or tools with an Agile development team.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships for technical tools (e.g., Copado).
  • Have exposure to lightweight product development methods such as user story mapping and/ or rapid prototyping.
  • Additional Salesforce Certifications:
    • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or II
    • Salesforce Certified Administrator
    • Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect
    • Salesforce Certified Business Analyst
    • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator

This position is a range of salary grades SG5 - SG8 .
