I.T. Administrator III (CTC'Ss) - "W-TRS"
The WTRS IT Admin III will provide support to a global team of systems and network administrators supporting the US Army Combat Training Centers in the US, Hawaii and Europe responsible for maintaining, configuring, and securing networks and systems, ensuring reliable and efficient communication across all platforms to enable an effective training environment for the US forces and allies conducting training at each site.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to network administration

- Manage networks and servers.
- Maintain and update system software and hardware.
- Enforce cybersecurity policies
- Provide technical support to end-users.
- Manage user accounts and access permissions.
- Document system configurations and changes.
- Administer and fine-tune network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) to maintain optimal connectivity.
- Experience in Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or another enterprise-grade networking equipment
- Proficient in implementing and managing network security solutions such as firewalls, intr
- Design and maintain backup strategies, and system monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate with SOC analysts and security teams to improve security of systems and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, STIGs, SCG and relevant NIST controls
Desired Skills:
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, Sec +, RHCSA, VCP, Microsoft Role Base Certification like Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or legacy MCSE and MCSA.
- Strong proficiency in network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Ability to architect enterprise-grade network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN
- Experienced in design of VPNs, VLANs, and QoS policies for secure and optimized traffic routing
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV)
Ability to analyze packet captures using Wireshark or other forensic tools
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
