Overview

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you will drive the transformation of our IT operations from a traditional reactive model to a strategic function that delivers value and competitive advantage through technology.

You will support the design, implementation, and management of the company’s core IT systems—including network, security, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily operational support for IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and high availability.
  • Lead end-to-end IT infrastructure projects: initiate, plan, execute, and close, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for complex systems, including servers, storage, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Servers, VMware, and related technologies.
  • Conduct incident response and threat analysis for security alerts, escalating as needed.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve the security, reliability, and performance of the IT environment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancement.
  • Audit systems and ensure compliance with security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly test disaster recovery and incident response plans.
  • Provide after-hours support as needed to maintain operational excellence.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support team and business objectives.

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Max

USD $118,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications highly preferred (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft 365, Azure Architect, CCNA, MCSE, VCP).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proven expertise in configuring and supporting:
  • Microsoft Windows servers and storage systems
  • Microsoft 365
  • VMware infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects (PMP certification a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools: Windows Server, Windows Desktop OS, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
