Lead CyberSecurity Engineer

Interapt is developing a CyberSecurity team to support a high impact client engagement focused on cloud security operations, IT risk, and secure architecture. This team will work closely with lead and cross-functional client teams to implement technical security controls, support project-based risk reviews, and assist in establishing secure practices across the SDLC.

We are seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to drive secure solution design and execution across enterprise initiatives. You'll serve as a key advisor, partnering with cross-functional teams to embed security and privacy into every phase of the project lifecycle—from concept through delivery. In the role, you’ll influence architecture decisions, shape security controls, and guide teams through risk trade-offs and compliance alignment. Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with engineering and product teams to align security with business goals
• Review architectures and assign tailored security and privacy requirements
• Guide teams through risk assessments, control implementation, and validation
• Influence vendor and product decisions with security priorities in mind
• Track risk exceptions and security status across active projects
• Identify security trends and recommend improvements
• Drive functional goals and support governance of security standards

Requirements

• 6+ years in security architecture, operations, or engineering
• Hands-on experience across key domains: data protection, network/app security, IAM
• Experience with encryption (e.g., TLS, AES), remote access (e.g., VPN, ZTNA), and cloud security
• Skilled in risk assessment, project scoping, and managing concurrent initiatives
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership

Preferred

• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA
• Experience in telecom, consulting, or large enterprise environments
• Familiarity with frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS), cloud/container security, and agile integration
