Job Overview:
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Product and Regulatory Compliance, the Senior Legal Counsel will advise product management and engineering teams to ensure they are maintaining a robust and comprehensive regulatory compliance program. This role is critical to ensure Thales CSP’s product teams comply with the regulatory change agenda facing the business, including but not limited to, The Cybersecurity Act, Cyber Solidarity Act, Digital Operational Resilience Act, NIS2 Directive, Cyber Resilience Act, Artificial Intelligence Act, General Data Protection Regulation, European Data Act, Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, European Digital Identity Regulation (eIDAS2), and European Chips Act.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines specifically tailored to current and emerging regulations impacting products that protect data.
Ensure that compliance policies for relevant regulations are effectively communicated and managed by product and engineering teams across Thales CSP.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to advance a cohesive compliance framework tailored to products that protect data.
Advocate for compliance best practices in NPI processes, ensuring they meet evolving regulatory expectations.
Lead training sessions and workshops to enhance company-wide awareness of CSP compliance requirements and related regulations.
Promote a culture of compliance through ongoing education, ensuring teams understand the implications of the regulatory landscape.
Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders regarding compliance matters related to CSP.
Qualifications:
EU or UK practicing lawyer with over 8 years of post-qualification experience in a top tier law firm or in a regulatory change advisory role.
In-depth knowledge of EU regulations mentioned above.
Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies that adhere to complex regulatory environments.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven capability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence change and foster a compliance-oriented culture within the organization.
