Cyber A&A Engineer

Full-Time | On-Site – Colorado Springs, CO
Salary: $108,000 – $112,000
Clearance: Active Top Secret required; TS/SCI strongly preferred

Job Overview

We are seeking a Cyber A&A Engineer to support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities across classified systems. This role involves analyzing system vulnerabilities, interpreting scan data, supporting system authorizations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on risk mitigation and compliance efforts.

You’ll play a key role in the continuous monitoring and security posture of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong RMF experience, hands-on familiarity with ACAS and STIGs, and the ability to lead risk assessments and authorization documentation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze ACAS, SCC, and ConfigOS scan data and controls for continuous Authorization.
• Support generation of POA&Ms and engineering responses for system vulnerabilities.
• Conduct risk analysis for Risk Acceptance Requests (RARs).
• Collaborate with program teams, assessors, and external stakeholders on A&A processes.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of system packages in eMASS/Xacta.
• Participate in system account auditing and access management reviews.
• Support configuration and patch management processes for complex enterprise systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with RMF (NIST 800-53) and DoDI 8500.2 cybersecurity policies.
• Strong knowledge of ACAS, SCC, and interpreting scan outputs.
• Proven ability to assess and apply STIGs, document findings, and generate A&A artifacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs), IAVMs, and POA&Ms.
• Familiarity with Cross Domain Solution (CDS) accreditation.
• Experience working with third-party assessors/auditors.
• Understanding of account auditing, patching, and system configuration management.
• Familiarity with Schriever Space Force Base operations is a plus.
• TS/SCI clearance highly preferred.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR advanced degree with 3+ years OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must meet DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification requirements. Accepted certs include:

• CASP+ CE
• GSEC
• SSCP
• CND
• GICSP

Work Location

• Primary: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO
• Occasional travel to local customer sites (e.g., HWY 83 facility)
