Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and oversee the service delivery, and operational efficiency of our IT infrastructure, digital workplace and security functions. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of IT services within a specific zone (a group of sites/countries within a region). This role focuses on operational execution, local issue resolution, and ensuring service delivery aligns with regional guidelines. The successful candidate will manage our Managed Service Provider (MSP) service delivery, ensuring adherence to SLAs and driving value for the organization.

The oversight of this role will cover Japan, South Korea and countries from AKA region (e.g. Singapore, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, etc).

Working at GEHC Japan Hino office will also be mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery & Operations Management:

  • Oversee the service delivery and operations of the MSP, ensuring they meet the established SLAs and deliver optimal value.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the MSP, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to governance, risk, and compliance requirements for IT operations and security.

Infrastructure & IT Services Management:

  • Run operational processes such as incident management, change management, and major incident management within his/her zone.
  • Ensure robust infrastructure and security practices to safeguard company data, systems, and operations.
  • Work closely with security teams to ensure infrastructure compliance with security policies and regulations.

Project Management:

  • Oversee IT infrastructure projects from inception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources and priorities to meet business objectives.

Process & Technology Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, ensuring they are cost-effective, efficient, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices in IT operations and security.
  • Optimize resource allocation to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness in service delivery.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the key point of contact for all IT operations matters, ensuring clear communication and alignment with senior leadership and other business units.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to understand and address operational needs, ensuring IT services meet business requirements.

Key Result Areas (KRA):

MSP Service Delivery:

  • Ensure MSP delivers services that meet or exceed SLAs.
  • Maintain continuous improvement in MSP performance and service quality.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Ensure 100% uptime and minimize major incidents affecting operations in critical sites within the zone.

Project Delivery:

  • Oversee successful IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure all infrastructure and security operations adhere to compliance standards and safeguard company assets.

Cost Optimization:

  • Achieve cost savings through efficient resource management and technology optimization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing infrastructure, IT services operations and End User Support.
    • Strong experience managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and ensuring SLA adherence.
    • Proven track record of overseeing IT infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
    • Deep understanding of operational processes like incident management, change management, and major incident management.
    • Experience working in global IT environments and managing remote and on-site teams.

  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Business Fluency with both Japanese and English.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to drive continuous improvement in IT operations, leveraging both people and technology.
    • Solid project management skills with experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
