Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crisis Management Testing VP to join our Testing CoE, Enterprise Resiliency Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive crisis management testing program. This role requires a strong understanding of crisis management frameworks, testing methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure effective testing of our crisis response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Testing Frameworks: Design and implement structured crisis management testing frameworks to evaluate the robustness of crisis response systems.
  • Manage Testing Activities: Oversee the execution of crisis management tests, including planning, coordination, and reporting of test results. Ensure that all tests are conducted in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Standardizing Nomenclature: Collaborate with internal teams to standardize nomenclature for different regions and teams to avoid confusion.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and specific external stakeholders, including clients, to understand their crisis management requirements
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving the crisis management testing process to enhance the overall effectiveness of the program.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on testing activities, findings, and recommendations. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all testing processes and results.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to team members on crisis management testing methodologies and current practices.
  • Assess and Enhance Cyber Defenses: Design test scenarios to proactively unearth attack vectors and thwart threats to the company's digital assets.
  • Orchestrate Simulation Exercises: Develop and execute comprehensive simulation exercises that bolster operational and technological resilience.
  • Post-Exercise Analysis: Conduct thorough post-exercise analysis, synthesize corrective actions, manage tracking and monitoring of progress, and plan future simulations to confirm the efficacy of implemented improvements.

Crisis Scenarios:

The Crisis Management Testing Lead will be responsible for testing against a variety of crisis scenarios, including but not limited to:

  • Operational Incidents: Physical, technological, cyber, or market-based events that disrupt the ability to deliver agreed products and services. Examples include natural disasters, major power outages, major IT outages, cyber-attacks, and pandemics.
  • Counterparty Crisis Events: Scenarios where there is the potential for a counterparty to fail in its ability to meet its contractual obligations, including default or imminent default.
  • Data Loss and Cyber Incidents: Scenarios involving data loss, exfiltration, malware/ransomware attacks, data corruption, data breaches, DDoS/botnet attacks, and phishing attacks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of industry experience in crisis management testing, disaster recovery, or a related field. 5-10 years’ experience in managing testing programs and leading teams is highly desirable.
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience at the Vice President level in planning, designing, and leading resiliency exercises for an executive audience at large corporate, multinational financial institutions (preferably G-SIFIs), including loss of vendor/counterparty, IT disaster recovery events, cyber incidents, geopolitical tensions, and pandemics.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to crisis management.
  • Executive presence - comfortable, confident, and effective in interacting with all levels of senior and executive leadership
  • Extensive knowledge around the operation of key international financial systems, an understanding of the current threat landscape, operational resilience and international regulatory considerations, and systemic risk scenarios.
  • Outstanding organizational skills required to manage multiple, complex projects collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior leaders.
  • Exceptional writing skills, communication abilities, and expert-level proficiency in producing exercise decks in PowerPoint and writing detailed after-action reviews.

Additional Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of crisis events, occasional off-hours support may be required, including weekends and holidays, requiring flexibility and readiness to engage beyond standard working hours if required to support real-time crisis management activities.
