Progress OpenEdge Database Administrator
Tasks
- Automate operations using PowerShell
- Conduct incident root cause analysis and post incident reviews
- Configure Pro2 topologies schema mappings and transformations
- Design and run backups and recovery including PITR and AI roll forward
- Enforce least privilege encryption audit and data masking
- Handle replication conflicts retries and restarts
- Implement monitoring alerting and trend analysis
- Install configure and patch OpenEdge RDBMS
- Maintain documentation architecture diagrams SOPs and DR playbooks
- Manage database startup parameters and storage extents
- Operate Pro2 replication monitor lag and manage agents and triggers
- Own database stability performance security and lifecycle
- Reconcile downstream data using checksums row counts and exception queues
- Script infrastructure provisioning and idempotent runbooks
- Test and document DR failover and backfeed processes
- Tune locking latching buffer pools and indexing
