Tasks

• Address client concerns and issues
• Apply UL requirements
• Communicate project status and results to clients
• Communicate with clients on technical issues
• Coordinate laboratory activities
• Coordinate project administration
• Define project specifications cost time sample requirements
• Determine project scope
• Develop follow up service procedures and information pages
• Develop preliminary investigation plan
• Develop special test methods and test equipment
• Ensure code of conduct compliance
• Establish test programs
• Examine samples
• Explain UL procedures and requirements
• Negotiate completion dates and sample requirements
• Notify compliance issues with UL requirements
• Perform file reviews
• Prepare data sheets and instructions
• Prepare project reports
• Propose new or revised UL requirements
• Provide direction as primary designated engineer or designated engineer
• Provide technical assistance on product inspection
• Represent UL at industry functions
• Resolve engineering issues from variation notices
• Review files and manufacturer information
• Schedule and review laboratory technician work
• Serve as project handler of record
• Train office field and laboratory staff
